Our Strategic Plan 2025-2029

Fairoak Housing Association is a specialist supported housing provider dedicated to providing high quality, safe and bespoke homes for adults with a learning disability and autistic people.

We provide supported homes for over 110 tenants across Cumbria, North Lancashire, County Durham and Northumberland.

More than just bricks and mortar, we are committed to ensuring that our tenants receive the support necessary to live as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.

In the last five years, we have faced significant challenges including a global pandemic, rising costs, reduced funding in both housing and social care and ongoing pressures on the recruitment and retention of support staff.

We know that adults with a learning disability and autistic people were disproportionately impacted by these challenges and too many people are still living in institutional settings with little or no choice of how they live their lives and low expectations of what other options are available to them.

The past few years has proven that Fairoak is an agile, resilient organisation, able to weather and respond to the most challenging circumstances whilst ensuring that we continue to deliver for our tenants.

We remain firmly committed to our core purpose and putting the needs of our tenants first.

With this in mind, we are proud to set out our Strategic Plan for what we want to achieve in the next five years.

This Plan has been developed together with our tenants, staff and Board and we firmly believe that by building on our solid foundations, whilst remaining true to our purpose and values, that we are in a strong position to continue to provide an excellent service to our existing tenants and develop new homes for more people who would benefit from them.

The focus of this Plan is on our tenants, their homes and developing new homes whilst ensuring that we remain financially strong, well governed and a great place to work.

This Plan sets out four key objectives for the next five years and is the bedrock for how Fairoak will continue to evolve, set the standard for excellence in everything we do and be the supported housing provider and partner of choice.
