Friends of Fairoak

At Fairoak, we’re proud to provide specialist supported housing for adults with a learning disability and autistic people.

More than bricks and mortar we are committed to ensuring that our tenants receive the support necessary to live as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.

In addition to housing support, we have established Friends of Fairoak, which offers our tenants social events and activities that promote inclusion, confidence, and well-being.

These activities help reduce feelings of loneliness and encourage friendships. Many of our tenants have experienced cuts to their support budgets, limiting their opportunities to engage in social activities. Through Friends of Fairoak, we aim to bridge this gap by providing accessible and enjoyable events that foster a sense of belonging.

Funding our activities

We rely on the generosity of others to help us provide activities for our tenants—from social events to holidays and day trips.

Our team works hard to raise funds through coffee mornings, sponsored walks, and other events.

We also apply for funding grants from organisations such as The Frieda Scott Charitable Trust, The Hadfield Trust, Cumbria Community Foundation, Kendal Town Council and The Royal Horticultural Society.

If you’d like to find out more about Fairoak Housing Association, how to become a tenant, renting your property to us or any other matters, please get in touch.
