There’s a fresh face in the Fairoak offices, and that’s the latest recruit to our team – James Arnold!
James joined us in October and has been incredibly busy since the day he started, getting to know our tenants across all of the areas Fairoak covers and finding out more about their homes and requirements.
James is local to the South Lakes and has worked for a number of years as a Lettings manager at an estate agency in Kendal where he was responsible for overseeing more than 100 rental properties.
He joins Fairoak as a Housing & Support Officer working alongside John Holmes, our Asset & Compliance Manager, and supporting Alison Barnes, our Customer Engagement Officer.
His role encompasses all aspects of property management including inspection visits, identifying and responding to requests for repairs and maintenance, along with other housing issues that may arise.
“Meeting so many of the tenants in these first few weeks has been really enjoyable, everyone has been so friendly and welcoming.” says James, “I’ll be honest, I hadn’t fully appreciated just how many people were Fairoak tenants and it’s a number which seems to be ever-growing.”
“Obviously there are significant differences between the private rental sector and supported housing, with safeguarding and benefits training being a primary focus for me in these early days.”
“What I’m really enjoying is the diversity of the job – it’s a cliché but no two days are ever the same here at Fairoak!”
“I also like the fact that Fairoak manages so many different types, sizes and styles of properties. Some are quite modern, others more traditional, and then there’s single or shared occupancies. It’s a real mixed bag but all really nice places that tenants can call their home.”
