Supported housing workers with a tenant with a learning disability in her home

Who we are

Fairoak Housing Association provides supported housing for people with learning disabilities and autism.

We are based in Cumbria and have properties located across the north of England including Northumberland, County Durham and Lancashire.

We also provide advice for our tenants on how to obtain the support necessary for them to live independent and fulfilling lives within their local community.

Our organisation

We pride ourselves on our ability to offer our tenants a choice of accommodation individually tailored to their requirements, however complex they may be.

All our homes are modern and comfortable and provide ordinary living within the community.

Fairoak is a member of the independent Housing Ombudsman Service, a membership which governs how we operate and the services we provide.

We are also members of the National Housing Federation which represents independent, not-for-profit housing associations in England and is the voice of affordable housing.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

Fairoak is committed to taking action to stop discrimination and is actively working to increase opportunities for all tenants. In turn, we expect all tenants to play their part in making this a reality.

We work with our tenants to ensure that we have strategies in place to achieve equality and promote diversity and inclusion in all areas of service provision.

It also means that we are looking for opportunities to enrich community life through supporting local projects and events.
